These are some of the parts that will be going into the new version of the full size 800-225 smoother. The wooden bits are in the finishing room getting a regular schedule of french polish. The plane will probably be complete and ready to fettle early next week. I’ll post completed pics at that time.

Ron,
It looks excellent. Will this be the #1 production version of the prototype you've been posting? The material for the sole and sides looks massive. Are they dimensionally the same as the proto?

Chuck, You are correct, this one will be the production version, the body has been upgraded with 1/4" sides and a 3/8" thick sole plate. There have been other upgrades and changes and I will elaborate more when it's done so that those parts can be seen. The changes were subtle but actually required more engineering work than one would imagine and many jigs that were made for the prototype had to be scraped and new jigs made to produce a new version plane. Thanks for asking. Look for completed pics next week.Ron Bresehttp://www.breseplane.comIf you're too open minded your brains will fall out.
It is no good fooling oneself that, given different circumstances, one could produce such work. The plane will be beautiful, and it will reflect all the hard work and care put into its creation. I so wish I had that commitment and admire those who are so single minded.
