on/off switch for Radial drill press-Roc
Rockwell/Delta Radial arm Drill Press-
Model # 11-280/Serial # ET-7070
I was given this by the widow of a dear old friend- he was 87. The Machine is in immacualte condition, he felt about his tools the way I do- they are good and keeping them in perfect running oredr is always a good thing. They are possessions of which one should be proud.
On the left side of the head piece is a small bracket that is bolted to the head piece; it is obvious that its purpose is to hold a long lever to switch the motor on and off without having to reach around the machine to switch it “On”. The switch lever on the motor has a small hole drilled in it, probably for a pin to hold everything in place.
I would dearly like to have a picture either of the layout of the lever arrangement or a digital photo of hoiw it was on the drill press. I am quite good at fabvicating anything I need, but wanted to keep the machine as close as possible to the original design. It’s a matter of aesthetics, gentlemen.
This machine is built far better than the current Taiwanese stuff. The head bearings are still good, ol’ George did not use it that much. He was not a woodworker, but liked good tools for his exquisite metal work.

Try Delta. They have been putting parts break-downs on their site.
