I stoped into our Big Lots to see if by chance they had any of the Record Vises, none to be found here…..Butttt…there was a big box of 5″ swivel casters, that I quickley got 4 of them from the box.  At $5.99 each and needing a set of them I was a happy customer.  Since any large town is 100 from where I live, it wasn’t worth the drive and gas just to get a set of casters. And the weight of 4 of these would make the “before” good price go up with shipping.

I had been needing to build a Platform Truck to store some green wood blanks on since they always seem to be in the way where they are.  So with the addition of some 2×6 lumber, some nuts and bolts and an old galvinized fence gate I had in the junk pile. I was able to construct the truck for about $46. Not bad compaired to what most of them I had seen go for.  Had seen some old beat up ones sell at the closing of a place for $70 ea.

The other casters that I was going to get were more than twice the cost of these and for my needs these ought to out last me.  So if you cant find a vise an need some big casters, maybe you might find some at your big lots store.
