I have been looking for my last table saw. I finally settled on the Jet Xacta saw (not Deluxe), 3 hp, 30″, with router lift.
My local Rockler store (Cambridge, MA) is tagging onto Massachusetts’ tax holiday this weekend and offering an additional 15% off everything in the store. This brings the total price of this saw to $1,870. Not a bad deal.
Then I noticed that Powermatic is running a promotion on the PM2000 equipped exactly the same way. The total price for this saw is $2,210. I confirmed with Rockler that the 15% off applies to the Powermatic promotional price.
So, for an additional $340 I guess it’s obvious that is the way to go…..any opinions??

Andyfew,That's a long haul from Cohasset to Cambridge, is there nothing in the Plymouth, Brockton or Pembroke area?
Dear Andy,
PM66 owner here. That's a sweet deal on the PM. I would go for it.Go YANKEES!John
rshelly,
I think it's a no brainer also, but your not going to get away so easily. I checked the price on line...hmmm, seems the 5hp is the same price as the 3hp at some locations..hmmmm
That's true! But it's a 3 phase motor.
rshelly,
It sounds like you dodged that bullet. Might as well get in the car before the traffic builds and head over there...it certainly isn't going to get any cheaper. Congrats, is it in stock?
Thanks. No, it's not in stock...but that is actually better since my new shop where it's going is still under construction...
I just pondered the same decision. Here is the title of the discussion:$1300 G1023SLW or $3000 PM2000 1792003K
I followed that thread...for me it looks like a $1,000 difference. It is such a hard decision.
I hope you will post after you get it set up and use it to let us know how you like it.
