Need plane blade for vintage no. 3 Goodall hand plane

I purchased a vintage hand plane — a Goodall No. 3.
I’d like to upgrade the blade but am having a hard time finding one that will work with this plane.
The mouth is just under 1 3/4″ wide and the existing blade is just over 1 5/8″ wide and 4 1/4″ long.
There is no chip breaker.
Any tips on sourcing a replacement blade?

Buy an oversized one and machine/grind it down to fit.
If you don't have access to the tools for it, your local machine shop can likely do it for a fair price.
Lee Valley has 1 5/8” wide replacement blades for their block planes. These might work although I’m not sure if their hole placement will interfere with blade clamping.

What is wrong with the original blade ?
I had the same thought. Maybe the OP wants to invest in a thicker, higher quality steel blade...but IMO this isn't the plane to do it with. I would get a Stanley #4 instead; I have a 1, 2, and 3, and never use them (they more or less are collectibles that fill out my collection).
The original blade is thin and I'm not sure of steel quality. I just figured a new blade was an easy upgrade. I ended up getting a Kunz blade from Peck tool that is for #110 block planes. This is my first foray into vintage tools and it's quite possible it will not be a practical tool for me. But I only paid $25. Thanks for the replies!
This is not an easy upgrade for this particular plane. not at all.
Very odd, non standard size. No modern blades are going to fit it.
You might get lucky and find a direct fit on ebay or something but it would be a lateralgrade not an upgrade as it will come from the same era.
