I need to build a mobile lumber storage rack and was wondering if anyone out there knows of any such plans? Shouldn’t be too hard, but some guidance would be helpful. thanks in advance for any input.

I had one for awhile, gave it up for more shop space. A question or two to help your helpers: Do you want to store only dimensional lumber, or do you want it to handle sheet goods also? Do you want it to hand all those annoying off-cuts also?
Sheet goods are what I aj most interested in storing. I have the dimensiional covered. The scraps? Well, I just put them in a box. I need to store the sheet goods- the plywood etc. .
Here's the plywood rack I use. It's 48" long and the caster placement lets it turn in its own raduis, so it's pretty maneuverable. I have it set up to hold ten sheets of 3/4", but it coulld easily be made to hold more, it's plenty strong enough.
Sorry the pics are so big. Maybe one of our techies can resize them.
u callin' me a techie punk?!? JK ;)
there's no need to reinvent the wrench
Andy, not a techie punk, just a techie, and thanks for the help with the pics. I need to learn to do that!
yeah, i missed a comma, lol
if you havent already, download irfanview for free from irfanview.com easy to use resize them, then save in a JPG format to lower the kbs so we can download the pics faster

If you right click ont the attachment then click open in new window, it will resize automatically.
Thanks. Pretty much what I was looking for. The "seat" on tbe non inclined side of the rack- just counterweigt to keep the rack from tipping or do u store stuff in it?
Thanks. WGStose
Sometimes I stack stuff there, but it's not needed for counterweight.
