Material to make jigs/auxillary fence

I plan to make an auxiliary fence for my table saw .I have purchased the T track, I now need advise on what is the best material to use to mount the T track on .I did see some plywood on the internet which had a laminate attached to the surface but I can,t remember where I saw it
Question Can anyone please advise what would be the best choice of material and thickness to use to make an auxiliary fence
My initial thoughts are cabinet grade plywood or do I try to obtain a plywwod with plywood with a laminate finish

I've been using lots of UHMW material from Woodcraft.

don't know about the fence question but woodcraft has the phenolic laminated plywood.
A good material for aux fences and other jigs is the MDF laminated material they use for commercial office furniture. Find an outfit that makes this type of furniture and you'll probably find all kinds of scrap they'll be glad to have you haul off. It normally comes in 1" thickness, is laminated on both sides and straight as an arrow, heavy and does not warp. I get all I need for free and have made a lot of jigs and sacrifical fences from it. Its not chipboard. Great stuff and FREE!!

Thank you to everyone for you replies
Lamadriver, your suggestion has prompted a possible solution .I work a retail shop and the shelves and stands which the products are put on are about 30 years old .The material they are made of is plywood with a laminate surface

I wouldn't worry a whole lot about the material you use. I've utilized just about everything -- Baltic birch, MDF, MDO, plain birch ply, melamine etc. If it is a wear surface, I will varnish/wax it. I've got a sacrificial fence for dados made from varnished MDF that's been with me for 20 years. Admittedly, I don't use it every single day, but it has seen a lot of action.********************************************************

I make a 'FEW' fixtures and AUX. fences..
Just me so.. I use MDF and WAX!.. That fancy 'plastic' stuff is REALLY nice but a bit expensive!
Except for cutting it MDF is GREAT!
Here is my aux fence, built from Baltic birch scraps.
It works well, but I should have positioned the t-track another inch or so lower. If you look closely at the photo, you can see there is not enough surface for the hold-downs to grip; they tend to slip over the top of the fence.
There is another thread similar to this over in the Workshop forum under the heading:

Hope this helps
