Hi All,
I invite you to visit the www.wkTools.com. This is new outfit where you can buy Marcou Planes here in USA. We have special offer today and you might try to get your new plane before Christmas.
Also, there is a new S50 model available for purchase.
Thanks,

This explains why he hasn't been around here as much lately.
Oh,... he is around... but he is hanging out in the Hand Tools section mostly.

Nice looking planes but who can afford these?
Doug Meyer
Doug,
I managed to afford two and I am just a poor old pensioner.
Marcous may seem expensive compared to an LV or LN but try comparing them to a Holtey. In fact, they are of Holtey quality for about 1/4 to 1/3 of the price. Buy now or regret it later, when Marcous become as sought after as The Scotsman's wares and the price rockets.
Philip's planes are works of art as well as functionally superbe tools; you couldn't justify buying purely on funtional grounds; but that's true of many other things, items that cost a lot more than a Marcou - houses, cars, beer...... :-)
People will pay the cost of a Marcou for a poor tablesaw or other similar-size machine. Why not save up instead for The Best Kind of an everyday-use tool (a Marcou plane) - one that works perfectly, looks beautiful, will last forever and may even be an investment? (When you die and the relatives gather to riffle through your chattels, they will not want your old TS to sell on ebay; but there will be fist fights to decide who gets the Marcou - and that's just the aunties and nieces).
Seriously, you can spend the cost of a Marcou on stuff with far less utility, beauty or lastability. Before you know it the ephemeral stuff will be gone, whilst those Marcous will continue to gleam and swoosh-off paper-thin shavings forever.

PS I am, of course, hoping for a discount on the next one now. :-)
If you can afford that on a pension I want your old job! :)

A poor architectural designer.
$1,600 for a hand plane...are you frickin' kiddin' me? Do you know how many hours of cheap illegal Mexican labor I can buy for $1,600??
And I thought $380 was a joke for a Festool sander...
If you think $1600 is a lot, look for the prices on Holtey planes. Here's a link to them and there's a money conversion link at the bottom of the page.
