I haven’t visited this site in a long time.
I’m in the process of building some louvered cupboard doors and I need some help finding an article in a woodworking magazine. A couple years ago, I build some doors using an article that described how to build a jig and how to use it. I’ve still got the jig but can’t find the instructions for its use. I checked the American Wood.. index and didn’t find it.
I went to the Fine Working site to look at their index. When I entered the keyword (index) the site sent me to a page telling how to join their group (subscription prices and all) but didn’t lead me to an index. I can’t believe that FW doesn’t have an index to their articles available to all without cost.
What am I missing?
By the way, can anyone remember an article in any source that discusses louvered doors?

I recently used this site for a jig for shutters http://woodworking.about.com/od/woodworkingplansdesigns/ss/Louvers.htm
i hope this helps.
What does the jig look like?
Not sure if it helps but you can make or have something like this.

I have a set as in the link I have never used! I still use my old thing I made from good old Norm 'the carpenter'.. plans.
As in the link. The picture I posted is only a guide for your router. Make your own or it seems you already have one.. It takes a left and right router guide and something to index the cuts. I do not have a picture at hand but my jig is something like in the picture but longer. I have a hunk of wood to fit into the last cut made for indexing. Like a cut lover..
Maybe yours just flips over to make both sides?
Like a cut lover.. ??
I wanted to say the word LoUver.. Sorry my mind is old these days.

Thanks Will,
I have a plan for a different jig that came from a book from WoodenBoat. I was asking what the jig looked like because I thought it might help figure out where the instructions are.
Do you or anyone you know have back issues (ANCIENT!) of Woodsmith?
There's a good louver cutting jig (which I built, and it works great) in issue 37, Jan./Feb. 1985.
If you can't get a copy, maybe I could fax the article or try to scan and e-mail.

You can try American Woodworker, Issue 59. Also, Fine Woodworking, Issues 10 and 36. I may have Issue 59 in case you don't have these.
Check the New Yankee Workshop website. I've seen a NYW episode where Norm builds louvered doors. The website may have the info you need.
