Looking for Table saw-jointer comb
As my life changes, I am faced with a smaller work space. I am now looking for a table saw–jointer combination . The only machine I can remember is an older Rockwell-Delta or sears Craftsman machine. Space is important so the big combo machines are out of the question.
Recommendations and suggestions???

I saw a Mini Max C26 Combo machine a few months back and that machine wasn't much bigger than a cabinet saw. It looks like a real nice machine too. It uses standard American 5/8 inch arbor 10 inch blades too. Also it had Tersa cutting blades for the planer/jointer.
Thanks, I remember Mini Max but had forgotten about them.
swifty,
The basic Hammer C3-31 is a 36" travel sliding table saw (12" blade capacity plus scoring blade and dado), 1-1/4" shaper, 12" joiner-thickness planer. It has a very small foot print. It also accepts a horizontal slot mortising table. Three motors, each 4+ hp.

They have a great DVD that demonstrates the machine fully. Also, request a catalog.
I have the same equipment, split into two components, a saw/shaper with a 78" slider and a joiner/thickness planer/slot mortiser. In my configuration, the shaper can tilt rearward 45 degrees.
The combo machine is equivalent to the bigger, separate components in every way, except that the shaper does not tilt. It's available with a VERY useful "mobility package," making it very easy to wheel around 1200 lbs of cast iron and steel.
I compared the MiniMax and Hammer equipment quite a while before deciding on the Hammer. They are both great machines, but the Hammer won out with better fit and finish and better (IMO) engineering of certain controls and the slider itself. Although the MiniMax wins for ease of joiner knife change with Tersa joiner knives which are just slightly easier to replace than the Hammer-designed quick change type.
