I am building a plantation desk from the Carlyle Lynch plans. On the plans there is a notation that it was published in the December 1985 American Woodworker. I would like to get a copy of that article. Anyone have that one?

I don't but have had success in the past using interlibrary loan service to locate articles from magazines as well as books. You might want to give that a try. Also have you checked with AWW to see if they have that issue for sale although since RD took them over and ruined the magazine I wouldn't hold out much hope for that.
*Thanks for the suggestion. I checked with AWW and their archives dont go back that far. Will check with the library and see if that will produce anything.
*Warren, In case you are unable to obtain the plans you mentioned, there are plans for a plantation desk in the book, "American Country Furniture", by Nick Engler. Publisher is Rodale Press. GP.
*Thanks for the suggestion. I have that book and have looked at its plan. I have the Carlyle Lynch plan but wanted to find the AWW article he wrote to further amplify the information I have.
*The present American Woodworker magazine is not the second incarnation of AWW, it's the third. When it started, it was published four times per year: March, June, Sept, and Dec. Publisher/Editor was Jim Jennings. It was published by JM Publications, Inc., 13 Walton Mall, POB 1408, Hendersonville, TN 37075 (615-822-0857). The only one I have for 85 is Sep. Almost. You can find used book stores on line who communicate with other book stores to locate books for a customer. There probably are some that deal in finding old magazines too. You could persue that. The phone # is from the 9/85 issue.
