I have the Elektra Beckum jointer/planer that I have had since '85. It is a real work horse. It is nice to have a jointer that can handle a 10" wide board. Mine doesn't have a dust attachment when it is on jointer mode, so I put a board on the end with the DC connected (it sits on the planer table). This machine needs a DC so that the chips do not get stuck in the rollers.
I run it on US 220V, which is 10% faster then it runs -- I bought it in Germany. If it has the same knife setting set-up, it is OK. It uses a bolt and allen screw to align the knives. With it you can you can adjust slight bows out of the blades -- like if the middle is lower or higher then the ends. I have not replaced the blades yet -- I did turn them around though. There does not appear to be a US distributor, but the last time I checked -- which was over 3 years, there was a place that could order the parts / knives.
