I have a 14 inch Jet bandsaw. I cannot get it to cut hardwoods. I get burning in the cut. I have tried several blades and have set the tension as instructed but soon as I try to cut something more then pine -no luck. Any thoughts

Should work
A 14" Jet should be more than good enough to cut hardwoods. As long as the blade isn't super fine it should not burn, bandsaw blades generally do not go fast enough to heat and burn like a tablesaw, although they may burn on tight curves.
What you describe almost sounds like something is wearing the set off the sides of the blade. That could possibly make the blade too dull for hardwood, but passible in a softer wood. Check to see if the sides of the blade are still sharp. If they are not, check the path of the blade to see if there is anything that the sides of the blade may be rubbing against. The blade guides could be prime suspects if they are set out too far.

Thanks you make a good point about the speed of the blade. I am going to put in a new blade and check everything and start over.
