Does anyone have a good reference book that would help in identifying styles of furniture? I would like to be able to ID some pieces of old furniture to make some pieces to accompany them. Thanks

Stan, I reccomend the local library. Got to rereading this and have come back to it, to try and spif it up a bit. I would reccomend trying some of the pubs seen at this sites homepage, under "Books & Videos" click on "Furniture". There are many good books there, I personally like "In the Craftsman Style" and "American Furniture of the 18th Century". Another useful one for me has been, "The Custom Furniture Source Book". Good luck.
*Speaking of this...are there any excellent museums of furniture that it would be worthwhile to make trips to? I'm only a amateur, but can use all the stimulation I can get!
