High end saw blade that leaves a flat…
*
I’m looking for a high end 10″ table saw blade that leaves a flat bottomed kerf (1/8″) when grooving or making box joints with fingers 1/8″ wide. Does the Forrest WW II leave a flat bottomed kerf?
I like to use slipfeathers to reinforce corners of small boxes and a blade that leaves a kerf with a raised triangle bottom looks bad with a square edged piece of wood in it.
Is there anyone that can help me?

most dedicated rip blades i've seen have a flat top grind, or you could have an old blade ground to that profile, not sure how much that would cost, though...
*Get a rip blade!
*Most blades are not flat ground these days. Used to be that rip blades were but now most are ATB because they cut cleaner provided "glue joint" cuts. Look for an old design rip blade, but understand that it will not give as clean a side cut and may be more prone to tearout.
*For I use an FS Tool rip blade. Gave up trying to find an ATBR (Alternating Top Bevel w/ Flate Raker) blade. The rip blde works good (for box joints) as long as it's sharp and the work piece is backed-up.
*If you can't find a flat ground blade, there's a couple of sources for grinding listed in the article on tablesawn dovetails in FWW No. 152. The price from Forrestt is listed at $11.
*I have a couple of Freud combination blades that have flat grind and cut very well. They're not "top end" blades, but I've never been displeased with the smoothness of cut.
*I had one custom made by forrest. I do not remember the costs but the 1.25 inch hole cost 7 dollars and I think the blade grind cost 14 dollars but don't quote me. This was for a 14 inch woodworker II. The standard blade is ATB and I had it flat ground for cross cut work. My rip blade is also a woodworker II, but it has fewer teeth and its an ATB grind. The fewer tooth restriction means that the gullets are larger and this is needed for ripping to clear more chips. Woodworker twos are combination blades and as such are not available in either a rip or a cross cut pattern unless you request a special grind. Very happy with the results and use these blades on olivers, northfields and martins.
*I saw some in Sears the other day. They were Freud ripping blades. They look real nice. I think they are about $60.00. They are not thin kerf.
*Both DML and CMT rip blades are FTG....Dano
