I have a 9-inch-wide Groz vise from Woodcraft that I believe is an
Indian knock-off of the Record 62 with a lever-actuated quick-release.
I bunged up the bracket on the bottom that holds the quick-release
mechanism. Now I have to hold the QR lever down with one hand while
tightening the vise or the half-nut will be forced down, releasing the
main screw.
The shape of that bracket is critical to holding the half-nut in place
when the main screw is tight, and letting it release and re-engage
smoothly. I’d bang it back into shape or make a new one, but what
shape is it supposed to be?
Is there anyone out there with a vise like this who could measure or
describe it to me? Even a picture would help.
Thanks,

My first thought was if you have to open something to move it you have to hold it open untill your close to where you want to be!
I could be wrong!
I have some of them Indian made tools (nor USA Indians.. The have more fewness!).. More than a bit rough on finish but strong! OK so I have no problem grinding the 'seeing' parts that others will see!
