A friend told me he’d bought an imported biscuit joiner, think he said it was made by “CMT”, whoever that is- Said he’d heard good things about it, and that they seemed to be selling a lot of them in the store he frequents- Is anywone here familiar with the brand? Thanks-

Yogi,
CMT makes router bits and other cutters. The only thing that seems close is a biscuit blade... http://www.highlandwoodworking.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=6572
BG- Thanks for the steer, I'll maybe look into their inventory- Have you any experience or heard of anyone else's indicating the quality of their products? Thanks-
I use CMTs router bits and have been pleased with their performance.Troy
Thanks for the thought-
I purchased a CMT 24 T rip thin kerf TS blade recently. Two alternating teeth and then one flat tooth. The blade hummed through 2" white oak and after all these years of using Freud, I purchased another on sale for a back up when it dulls. About $32 retail made it an excellent value on a very good blade.
Regards...
SARGE..
Holy cow- Well, there's no question they make some good equipment, but they evidently don't make a plate jointer, as I'd been told- Thanks for the heads up re the ts blade-
I'm a cabinetmaker and I use a Porter Cable plate joiner A LOT. I'm very happy with its performance and accuracy. Hope that helps
CMT is an Italian company and I do not believe they make a biscuit jointer. They do make my favorite router bits with Whiteside a close second.
