Hi all woodworkers
I’m new to this forum and from the United Kingdom. I have a Hammer N4400 bandsaw, the mitre guage/fence is below standard and would like to get a decent after market mitre gauge to use on this saw, the problem is that the mitre slot on this machine is not the standard 3/4 x 3/8 inch, any suggestions and advice would be really appreciated. Thanks
Best regards

Jan,
The easiest thing to do would be to make a miter sled with a hardwood strip that is sized to fit the slot in the table. You can find lots of articles and tips on building sleds for a table saw, the principle is the same for a band saw, only the dimensions would need to be changed. If you use few angles other than 90 degrees to the blade, say for cutting dovetails, it is usually worth making a dedicated sled for each application.
