Are the stamp styles similar or different from each other? Could be that the workers who owned the hammers stamped them with their initials so as to keep track of a favorite tool. Just a guess.
Hi forestgirl the stamps are the same, these hammers were produced
by sombody in a factory, they look like a regular stanley hammer, I have seen the trade name hand made on ax heads to. Im just curious to the history of who made them and were. thanks mark
Any chance of posting a pic or two??forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)

hope some one can see these and let us all know. thanks
mark
According to the catalog I have on hand. Hand made is a "brand name" type of thing. Bostwick-Braun catalog No.43 ( about 1948) lists these at $15.00 per dozen, shipped six to a box, 16 oz. Size 1-1/2, wt., less handle 16 oz. They may also be either Champion, Flint Edge Diamond, or Stanley-Atha. As a side note: an Estwing E20S sold for $33.00 per dozen. A Stanley #55 plane sold for...$43.00, with 55 cutters included. And a No. 5 Jack plane was $6.50. Not bad!
thanks much, thats what I was looking for.I have three of these hammers
I've picked up over the years, one was my grandfathers, and the others
I picked up at flee markets etc. thanks again mark
