For those who are curious, it's this Steelex machine <click>.
Wow, seems like a lot of machine for a mere $400.
It's the same machine Curt Wilke used to sell under York-craft for around $500 or so before he shut down Wilke Machinery. Not a PM floor model.. definitely not my Bridgewood Industrial (same as Grizzly Ind) but for $400 or so a huge step ahead of a similar priced bench-top with the moving X-Y table and clamping.
Sarge..
Thanks for the added info, Sarge. I wish I had the floor space.
My first mortiser was a Delta benchtop. It became a donation to a friend's high school shop department, and I got the Powermatic 719A - which I think is gone, and replaced by the 719T-for-tilt. Forget what I paid 10 years ago - maybe $800 - $900? Anyway, the stand is still in a forgotten storage corner - because I didn't have the floor space. Never been used. The mortiser sits on a workbench along the wall - in the middle, so I have room either side for long parts. Rock-solid, works great, don't regret a penny of it. Sometimes I have to crank the table side-to-side for more room for another project. Also, it is heavy enough that I never got around to bolting it to the bench - no need - and have had to drag it to the side a couple times ("Honey - You got a minute?")
