hello everyone,
i just got the grizzly G9922 OSS as a christmas gift from my dad ( good gift giver) and i have a major problem with it. It will only accept a 2″ sanding drum. At first i didn’t believe it. Why would they only allow one size drum to fit on this machine? After all, grizzly makes a cheaper model with a laminate table that comes with 6 different size drums. I just got off the phone with grizzly where the guy told me “thats how that model was designed”. He didn’t sound like he knew very much. Anyway, i don’t want to return it since it was a gift. Does anyone know where to get custom sized rubber sanding drums. The sanding sleeves aren’t the problem, just the rubber drum. Any help would be great.
the spindle shaft is 5/8″ and is 5 1/2″ long.
Thanks,
Chad

Even if you find suitable drums you will run into the problem of the hole in the table being too small or too large for the other drums. If you need the ability to change sizes you are probably better off returning it and getting one more suited to your needs. A gift that sits around unused won't make the giver happy either.
it has a removable insert. that wouldn't be a problem. i've already made my own because the stock one has a large gap on one side since the table can tilt
If the bore diameter is correct, the rubber sleeves for the Grizzly G0538 would work, it's probably worth a try.

i'll give it a shot, thanks. i was looking at the grizzly website, and it seems like every other oss comes with multiple drums. ??????????
Chad, ya have to find out if the posts for the other model's parts will fit, or the sears/roybi/delta from folks who can measure theirs. The rubber posts are at some sears hardware stores and the sleeves are std.after market types. Paddy
i tried the ridgid drum, but it is a little too small. i asked the guy at hd if i could buy one of the display drums. he said no, then as i was walking away, he changed his mind and gave it to me for free. i tried drilling a larger hole, but that didn't work. i'll keep searching
