Building a jewerly display case,that will look like a briefcase when closed and would like advice about gluing the 2 backs without using any fastners.Will glue only hold without pin etc.? I didn’t want fastners to show. (size is 1/2-14-22- 3/16 back).Thanks Tommy

A properly made glue joint is usually the strongest way of attaching two pieces of wood together so you won't need additional hardware.
If the back panels are solid wood they will expand and contract quite a bit. If they are solidly glued into a frame they will either crack or break the frame with shifts in humidity.
