My wife found the Stanley No. 45 molding plane at a garage sale and brought it home to me.
Then she told me that I should go back the next morning because the fellow had more boxes of tools that he had not unpacked yet.
Below is the total score from the garage sale with a total of 46.00 spent.
All but one of the planes are Stanley’s except for one is a Sergent.

Garry,
You did well for yourself there. I always tell myself to stop at local garage sales but I can't seem to find the time. Maybe the trick is to send the wife in first?
Some nice tools and an unbelievable price. Nice score!

Gee.. I go back and give the seller a good bottle of wine!
Not bad for $45.00!
Garry , that is bare *rsed theft <G>.
That scraper plane-there is no use for that in the Gd.U.S of A these days, what with your Piffmax sanders and other Frizzily items so freely available . If you send it to me I will pay for the post and packaging quite happily.
Maybe you should return, saying that you only got one of the forty-five parts that go with the full Stanley#45? (where are all the cutters?)

The people that sole the plane to my wife said they would look for the cutters when going through the ramaining boxes in the garage.
As for the scraper plane. I have used fine tuned it and have used it already so I think you better start looking at some garage sales in your area.

In the immortal word of the character "Kramer" on the television show "Seinfeld:"
"Giddyup!"
You did well for that amount of money and are an inspiration to us all. The only comparison I can make this summer is a turn-of-the century James Swan Cabinet-Maker's gouge for 50 cents but I have been wandering in an old tools sub-Saharan desert lately. Like a paradisical oasis mirage in the blurry spectrum of blue distance, the vision of your haul has got the blood pumping again and its off to the estate sales!
