Hi all
A funny question:
Does Freud re-sharpen there blades?
If so, how does one make arrangements.
I send my Forrest blades back to them.
I used to have my other blades sharpened thru Woodworker’s Supply, but now that their out of business, I really don’t have anyone I trust around here for the more expensive blades.

Forest will resharpen any manufacturers blades. I have sent my Freud F410 to them and they did an excellent job! If your happy with Forest, then keep using them.

I recently had four saw blades and four shaper cutters sharpened through my local Post Tool store. I'm not sure where they sent them - and it wasn't cheap - but I was delighted with the results.
I believe Forest does some of the best sharpening out there. I took a tour of their facilities when I left my Systematic 8" dado to be sharpened by them. It came back better than new, it cut like a laser. Forest blades are great also.
Jeff,
You will be very happy with the sharpening job that Forrest will perform on your Freud blade.. The price will not be cheap, but the results are worth the price
Good luck
Hi all
I knew that Forrest re-sharpens all, and I will be happy to use them.
The question about Freud was more out of curiosity then need.
Last blades I had sharpened locally were pretty bad a few years back.
I hate to admit it, but I have a pile needing sharpening now (including some Freud router bits), and have been a little lazy getting them done.
I usually just took them with me to WW Supply when I went there every few months.
Been a long winter and now I will need to get off my #### and take care of them.
Can't afford to keep buying new.

Jeff, have you checked with local woodworking artisans or cabinet shops to find out who they use?? They should be a good resource.forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)Another proud member of the "I Rocked With ToolDoc Club" .... :>)
Hi FG
As much as I hate to say it, I hardly talk to my local shops.
I lead a very sheltered life.
Jeff
I don't talk to mine either, but the last WWing show I was at, I spent alot of time talking to Michael Lomax and a few other "proven" WWers about what sharpening services they use. Figured they could give me the skinny on the closest/bestest services.forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)Another proud member of the "I Rocked With ToolDoc Club" .... :>)
Jeff,
Freud does not offer a sharpening service. I agree with Forest Girl's advice to check where the local cabinet shops have their cutting tools serviced.Charles M

Jeff,
It was Woodworker's Warehouse that went out of business, not Woodworkers Supply.

Thanks, I knew that.
I just ordered from them a short time ago and got the names switched.
My wife complains I can't remember names, I think she's right.
Now, where did I put my............
