I have seen it many times but what is it? A shrine for what? Someday, I'll have to stop and check it out. I suppose I should hurry before a tornado or hail storm beats me to it. The way it sticks out up there, makes it seem pretty vulnerable.
It is a beautiful building though.

Corn Crib
Looks like a corn crib to me.
I don't doubt there is a purposeful resemblance and that only adds to its interest as far as I'm concerned. I just figured from the highway that it was a church, and it may well be.
shrine
I was going to ponder its TRF (tornado resistance factor), but Brent beat me to it. ;-)
Interesting design, though.
Fay Jones bones
This is an interesting structure. It looks like it owes a bit to the Thorncrown chapel by the architect Fay Jones down in Arkansas... and, well, corn crib dreams. The Thorncrown is in the woods. This place seems to be trying to be the trees out there on the plains. Sometime on my way to see my sister I should get off the road and visit it. Where exactly is it?

the building is just west of Omaha near ashland between exit #420 and #426 on interstate 80 I cant remember what the name of the shrine was, but there are street signs , I think it said family travelers shrine, not sure, one heck of a corn crib, here are some more pictures. mark.
Now that is a very fancy corn crib. Where in Nebraska is it located?
