Hello,
I bought a Kreg table router and I am very satisfied. But when I try to use some 1/4 or 1/2 router bits it is not length enough because the table is thicker than the router plate. Do you have a solution to this problem?(Excuse my english language)

What is the brand and model number of the router?

Thank you,
My router is a Makita and model is:3612BR
This is more of a problem with some router than others. One of the things that make the Porter Cable machines so useful in tables was that their collets would extend quite a bit further through the table top than most other brands. On some routers there are stops or height adjusting hardware on the plunge mechanism that can limit the height that the bit can be raised to, on many machines the hardware can be removed to gain a little bit more range. On some machines, removing the springs inside the two tubes will allow you to raise the machine higher. You can purchase "router bit extenders". If you Google that name you should come up with a few makers. I have had only mixed success with the extenders, they tend to add vibration to the operation, sometimes dramatically so, especially with large bits. If you can't find extenders let me know and I'll do some searching.John White
Thank you very much Mr. White.I've found Extreme Extension from Router Technologies. Do you have any comments on this tool?
I don't have any experience with the Extreme extension, and it has been several years since I worked with any brand. The basic problem with all of the extensions is the basic physics of the set up. The working edge of the bit is several inches away from the top bearing of the router and the assembly will flex no matter how well it is engineered.John White
Hello and thanks again.I will try it and I will share the results of my tests.

Hello,
I have tried with a few bits 1 / 4 and I am partially satisfied. Now I can adjust the bit to the desired height, and I noticed some vibration only at the start-up.
