Do I need a mitersaw to bevel both ways?
I’m just about to buy a Bosch 10″ sliding miter saw. Do I need it to bevel both ways?
I was looking at them at amazon/toolcrib. I was going to get the Bosch stand also. The stand comes with the one that goes both ways. I could call and see if I get the combo discount with another model. I don’t see why they wouldn’t.
Back to my question. Why both ways? Do I need it? If a board was long and you had support off to one side primarily you might not want to flip the board.
Usually I have a lot more support on the right side of the saw.

I just bought a Delta 12" dual bevel CMS. With dual bevel you don't need to the same amount of space on each side of the saw. This was important since the new saw would be mounted along my shop wall and I only had clearance in one direction.

There are times when you can't flip the board, such as when tear-out on the face of the board is to be avoided.
For years I worked with one of those 8 1/2" Hitachi SCMS's. And it was always a pain to flip the board, or cut the piece upside down.
I don't think you would regret getting a dual bevel saw -- although truth be known, they are more fragile (if you have to move them around), and therefore need more futzing to keep them properly aligned.
