hi,
I purchased an edge guide for the dewalt 621 router. Unfortunately, the box does not have any instructions on how to make the adjustments needed. It only has a picture of how to connect it to the router.
Does anyone know where I can get more info on this edge guide and how to use it? Has anyone used it? Do you like it?
thanks,
Dimitri

Looking at a picture at Amazon, it would appear that you loosen the 2 outer wing-nuts to get your rough adjustment, then tighten those down. Follow by loosening the center wing-nut and use the knob on the end of that center post to do your fine adjustment. What kind of problem are you running into?

I have one, and I adjust it pretty much like FG said. Get it close with the nuts on the bars, and use the knob to dial it in. Unfortunately, there's backlash and slop in the adjustment, so you may need to fiddle with it to get it where you want. I also replaced the two plastic pieces and the guide with a single piece of wood scrap. I'm not all that impressed with it (mostly because it's cheap sheet metal), but it came with the router so I deal with it for the occassional use it gets. I don't know of an aftermarket guide for it, or I would suggest that route.
I love the router itself, especially since I got a round base for it.
Yep, I looked at the DeWalt picture and went HUH? I love my Porter Cable guide. Here they are side-by-side.

Just FYI - I've got a microfence aftermarket guide on my 621 and absolutely love it. Pricey, but I've never regretted buying it. Their circle-cutting setup is real sweet too.
