I have been making some cutting boards. Now I’m looking for those little rubber bumper feet. I have tried the ones from Rockler but they fall off after a while and are kind of annoying. The adhesive can’t take getting washed more than 4 or 5 times and then it falls off.
I think the way to go would be some type of rubber foot that has a hidden little screw/washer combo embedded into the foot. That way it’s the mechanic fastener that holds the foot.
Anybody have any suggestions?

I've seen two types - small (1/4", or so) black ones with an embedded tack, and larger (3/8"-1/2") with a recessed screw. You should be able to find both at a regular hardware store.
..able to find both at a regular hardware store... Could I add?...
Get the rubber feet and be sure to replace the screws and washers with true brass or stainless steel. Do not ask me how I know about this! Some 'so called brass screws/washers' are really just plated steel!
What board bumpers???
OK, I'm wondering why they are needed? Awwww you don't need no baby board bumpers, LoL.
It would seem to me that with them, one would always be using the same side of the board. Hmmmmm, it would cup in time? Also think it's better to use both sides of a cutting board, no?
You mentioned washing the cutting boards - not with soap I hope.... I use just HOT water and a Chore Girl, wipe em down when done. Easy peasy.
Curious to know what you used for a finish?
Regards,
Sure she sometimes feels like one, but I'll NEVER call the wife a chore girl. You're a much stronger man than I . . .
Where's the Chore Man
Ha, ha Don,
I'm not suicidal either, LoL.

I know what a Chore Girl is.. Not the wife!
I wipe down all of my cutting boards.. Whatever they are made of... After EVERY use, with common household bleach.
Yes it smells bad and hard on any surface but Salmonella and other kinds of bacteria can make you dead or wish that you were dead while recovering!
A number of years ago we were told that we should give up our dirty wooden cutting boards and switch to clean plastic ones. Everyone seemed to think that made sense as the plastic couldn't absorb fluid because it lacked pores. Then some folks did scientific tests to see how bad the wood was compared to the plastic. Lo and behold, the plastic cutting boards were worse. It seems that the scratches and cuts that develope on the surface of the plastic hold bacteria and resist soap and water, but something in the wood actually kills bacteria. We were amazed. I would say it was counterintuitive if I could spell that word, but since we don't have spellcheck I will refrain... oh wait, too late, never mind. That said, there are some things I don't use my boards for, raw chicken being one of them. I keep a spray bottle with water and a little liquid dish soap mix to clean the granite counters with and sometimes I give the cutting boards a spray and a washdown with very hot water, but that is about it except for the scraping and lemon I mentioned in an earlier post.
rubber foot
I've had a bunch on hand for so long I can't remember if i got em at Home Depot or Lowes. They do have little screws and they do work like a charm. I never flip sides. Who cares if one side gets a little dished. I have been chopping away at the two I use all the time for thirty or forty years. Every once in a while I scrape them down with a metal pastery scraper, the kind with the round side for your hand, and the slurry of sawdust that comes off a wet board looks nasty but it's only wood. I bleach the boards once in a while by wiping them down with lemon juice. On my bread boards I have a lip that hangs over the kitchen counter just like a bench hook and I put bumper feet on the inside of the lip where it hooks against the edge of the counter... it keeps the board from shifting around when I am kneading bread dough. With two feet on the lip and four feet on the base it is solid.
Bumpers
sleepydad,
Google Brainerd for store locations. My local Home Depot and Lowe's do not carry them.
I replace their screws with brass ones. 436XC is for 1/4"x1/2" size.
Best wishes,
Metod
