hi all
i want to cut crown molding for a bookcase using a compound miter saw. the front of the bookcase is vertical but the sides tilt out from the base at a 5.5 degree angle.
can anyone tell me what miter and bevel angles to set to cut the molding?
thanks, johne

I would cut the crown as if the sides were vertical and then cut a 5 degree long shim to tuck in behind the side molding after the "crown" is assembled.
I raise it up on the upright fence 3/16" mark it with my pencil & cut a test piece if it don`t fit raise, mark & cut another. all things being perfect numbers would be better
