I just bought a craftsman jointer at a yard sale in real good shape .It is a 8″ 11320650 made in 1973 . no owners manual came with it and one is no longer in print . After cleaning the tables I made a test cut and have snipe at the last 2″ . The out feed table is not adjustable but the infeed is . There are four bolts on the bottom 3/4″ with 1/2 in the center . I laid a ruler from my square a cross the tables and got them the same hight , but still have snipe at the last 2″ . What did I do wrong ??

A jointer references off of the outfeed table. The outfeed table must be slightly lower than the top of the cutting circle by about a thickness of a piece of paper (about .002-.003) Be sure that the knives are ground straight across too. In your case lower the cutterhead slightly. It is cutting too much at the end of the cut because the board is slightly above the outfeed table and when you reach the end of the board it no longer references off of the infeed table but drops down and contacts the outfeed table.
Thank you will sharpen knifes

Thank you for the owners manual it will be a great help

First off I would suspect the knives may need to be sharpened , dull jointer knives will not give the results you want period .
On a fixed outfeed jointer you need to loosen each knife or after you send them for sharpening and re-set them , simply use a straight edge set on the outfeed table and raise each knife until as rotated until they just slightly touch the straight edge , that's it the snipe will be gone .
As they get dull they seem to snipe worse so even if they are set proper if they are real dull the results will be poor .

Thank- you for your advice
