Recently purchased a new bedroom set (I know, I should have built it myself. My plate is too full right now)
All of the drawer boxes are made from cedar. Which in most cases is great. But I have a few drawers that will hold books and other like items. I don’t want them to smell like cedar. Can I put a coat of shellac on to seal in the smell?
Any advice would be great.

Yes, you can. It will probably take several coats.
