Happy new year to all! I just want to say I’ve enjoyed Fine wood working and reading all the comments from all the other not so expert experts out there. Did i read that someone was from Perth? Isn’t that Australia? Gaday mate!!! Anyway, has anybody bought lumber like pine with some other wood stuck to it? I bought some resurfaced pine the other day at a store (Low…s). The board was mostly the typical light color, but it had a about a 3 inch strip on the one edge of…birch? Maybe…cedar? It was a reddish color. anybody see this before?
Thanks

The heart wood of older white pine can be a medium red color, that is probably what you were seeing. If you go to the racks of solid pine you will probably find some boards with red in them.
