Anyone know of any woodworking clubs in the Chicago area? Particulary the Northwest side or Suburbs,
Thanks,
Daniel

No clubs, but I do attend a woodworking class through COD at Fenton HS. You can repeat the class as long as the instructor will let you - most of the guys in the shop have been coming for years. It depends on the instructor - you might be required to build a basic project first, but thereafter you build your own designs.
It's cheap - <$300, meets Tuesday nights for 3 hours, and you get access to a 24" planer, monster bandsaw, dedicated finishing room, etc.
They have classes at high schools throughout the burbs. This semester is already well underway, but it runs year round.

Chris,
Do you mean the Fenton near Rt 83 in Bensenville? My business (tool and die) is in Franklin Park. I'm sure COD means Collage of Dupage. I'll look up their course schedual.
I taught machine shop in CPS many years ago. I thought all of the high schools got rid of their shop classes.
Thanks for the input,
Dan
P.S. Check out the "Methods of Work" in the Sam Maloof edition of FWW.
Daniel,
Foxvalley Woodworkers Club, Batavia and DuPage Woodworkers Club. Hope this helps.
Dan
Dan,
Those sound reasonably close (except for Batavia). Do you have any phone numbers or other info? I'll also google them.
Thanks,
Dan
The DuPage Woodworkers Club has a website. And it is distance doable for a one night a month meeting .It looks interesting for a knowledge based club. The Fenton classes look interesting for hands on experience.
