Cherry developing yellow spots/streeks
I bought some 1/4″ cherry, made two identical frames, then glued the frames together with plastic widow screen between them to make an earring holder for my sister-in-law. After gluing in the screen (I used Titebond glue for all gluing, within a couple of days, some of the cherry had little yellow spots and streaks. I first thought it was glue marks, I couldn’t sand them out. But after looking at it some more, it was in too many different places for it to have been glue smears and streaks. Also, the color doesn’t match the glue marks when I am sure I have a couple of glue marks. Could this be some chemical reaction between the wood and the plastic window screen? Any ideas?

You say that you bought 1/4" cherry.
Was it solid cherry, or plywood that was 1/4" ?
solid cherry
Boss, I've not heard of cherry spotting yellow before. When I thought it might be ply, I figured it was manufacturer's glue seeping thru.Since the spots won't sand out, the next thing I'd try is sunlight, to see if the spots will change with photoreaction. Three or four hours in the sun (or other bright light) should tell whether or not this will work.
