Not sure I listed the problem correctly. Just finished a coffee table from walnut. Table top has 4 boards glued with biscuits. Finish is 5 coats dutch oil with 5 coats rubbed on polyurethane. After a few weeks I can feel the finish has lifted over the seems where the boards are glued. What did I do wrong?

You used PVA type glue? Which specifically? How did you clamp it, and how long did you allow before finish sanding and then before applying finish.
You may be experiencing glue creep--a problem with the glue up, not with the finish, per se.
I am assuming "dutch oil" is a oil/varnish mix similar to Danish oil. Is that right? What brand. What brand of varnish?
Steve, Thank you for the reply. I used Elmers yellow glue. First clamped 2 sets of 2 boards. Let sit 24 hours then clamped those together and let sit 24 hours. The table top then sat for a few days before sanding and final construction. Once completed and sanded I applied Watco Danish oil. 1 coat per day for 5 days. Let table sit for 7 days and then applied rub on minwax poly over the corse of another 5 days.
The wood has moved. It does that.
Beat it to fit / Paint it to match
hammer1, Thanks for the reply.
