   Glen, A friend of mine has one he says it's ok. At the same time he got his I bought the General 12 inch with the helical insert knife cutterhead. This is one sweet machine, I love it. I just read an article in the woodshop news that Grizzly now make a 12 in jointer with the same helical head. To give you an example, my machine is 3 years, gets lots of use and I still have not had to replace the knives. I bought it because I use a lot of figured woods, never have any problem with tear out. If you can swing the price I highly recommend it.
