I am a bit confused when it comes to choosing a biscuit joiner. Obviously the Lamello is the best but priceyBut when it comes to mid-priced units there is confusion. According to FWW, the Dewalt is the least parallel of most. It is large, and clunky, yet it is ALWAYS used in articles in FWW when a biscuit joiner is used. Is this a case of product placement sponsors, or is this machine truly prefered?

Tailspin,
Actually it is neither a sinister product placement deal, we never do that, nor is it our preferred machine. The simple fact is that the DeWalt has been in the shop for years, for reasons that are long forgotten, and it is the tool we grab when we need a photo prop, nobody here ever gave it much thought.
To be honest, we rarely, if ever, do biscuit joining here in the FWW shop, so the performance of the DeWalt tool isn't an issue. Mostly the guys from Fine Homebuilding use it, and they wouldn't know the difference.
