I’ve noticed that the left face of my biesemeyer fence is no longer flat and even. Specially at the places where the bolt that attaches the face to the fence is located. I was thinking of replacing it with some kind of hardwood and just boring through the wood and countersinking the bolt. Has anyone gone through this project, should I make it the same thickness or thicker? Any tips? Thanks for any info.

Thanks for forwarding the question.
Eagerly waiting.
Les,
Biesmeyer, and almost eyeryone else for that matter, make it very hard to replace or true up their fence faces.
You can replace the original fence with a hardwood or a good quality plywood like a birch ply. There is no reason to hide the bolts, as long as they are recessed they won't cause any problems. I'd make the new face about the same thickness as the old one so that the cursor can be used. A much thicker fence would require moving the cursor further to the side than the cursor's adjusting slot would allow.
