funny you should say that. I had one of those 4'' table saws, ya know with the rubber band for a drive belt?..actually was pretty good for what it intended to do..I think they don't make em anymore..mine was in the fire so it's history. If you don't know about "the fire" it was in '96...arson, I lost 30.000.00 in tools and wood, and guitars in process. The guy got off, on the grounds of "stupidity" they could not find evidence of 'accelerant' because of all the finishes and stuff in the shop..and no, it was not insured yet..was still in the moving in stage.
I apoligize... i meant to clarrify and ask about a bench top band saw and drill press. I dont have mush room and need to take to jobsites every now and then

Delta makes very decent product for that type of application, I would not hesitate to use their stuff..Craftsman?..I'd leave that to another to bash them, my friend had no problems, but he did not expect high quality and did not use them heavily.
Sphere has it... The Deltas should do you right.
I won't bash Crapsman but I don't waste my money on them either.

how much do you plan on cutting and what are you building?
i own a porter cable ten inch compound miter saw with slide.
best tool i own payed about $549. over two years ago it should be cheaper now though. good luck
