Best hinge for bi-part chess board/box?
I am looking hinge options for a chess board–two equal halves 2x8x16 with 32 squares on each half, connected by a hinge to allow for a virtually invisible joint line when the box is unfolded. Oh yes, hinges cannot protrude to raise up sides from the bottom when fully extended. Any thoughts?
Many thanks,
JK

Look into Soss hinges.
Might try Brusso hinges.
I second the Brusso hinges.
Thanks very much.
What model do you suggest? I need to be able to have 180 deg. span, and there can be no gap between the box haves, and the hinge can't protrude when fully open.

JKTry a search for "brusso hinges" on google. There are a few companies that carry them, and should have several models to choose from. The photos should help you decide.
