I don't happen to own any of their nailers, but in my circle, Hitachi has a reputation for producing some of the the best, and most reliable nailers.
JC: use what you like . Is it the best? maybe to you . I think Bostitch is the best, does that make the Hitachi a less of a better gun , I don't think so. Go with your feeling, if you like it buy it , if not try another brand. IMO stay away from cheap imported tools, you will never get parts or service for them. Good luck
FWW did a review a few issues back. I liked it because it pointed out features that were useful, as well as a review of overall power and such.
After reading the review, I bought the PC BN200. The big ones for me were tool-less jam clearing and a safety tip behind the nose (for a clearer view of where the brad is headed). The only feature I did not get was a belt hook. Power was good, it had the rotatable exhaust port, etc, etc.
I am not familiar with the Hitachi. They are a good company with a good rep. If they have those features, I'd be just as happy with their product.
I love brad nailers, they are so handy. Having the one that takes up to 2" brads helps you reach up into some tasks around the house that are made for finish nails.
Max Hitachi and Omar are probably the best nailers bar none. Id steer clear of PC and bostich. At least PC uses Senco type fasteners whereas most bostich use in house style fasteners.
Bostitch BT200 uses standard 18 gauge brads nails, so do all their other brad nailers. The only one that requires a Bostitch nails is the N62FNK, a 15 degree finish nailer. Most dealers who stock gun has nails for it any way , plus there are generic nails for that gun out in the field also. All manufactured make some products that require there own nails (or accessories ) to be used with their tools.
Have tried and returned almost every brand. For many years now I've used a Senco SLP 20. Simple design and rock solid. Have NEVER had a jam and immediately distrust a unit that says "jams easily cleared".
