I am going to build a cabinet for a custom sink and I am going to stain the cabinet very dark brown. My question is for suggestions on what kind of wood to use for the fames and the doors and what type of plywood for the bottom and the back of the cabinet. I have been woodworking for a lot of years but never built this type of cabinet in a bathroom before. Always good to here from other woodworkers what they think.
Thanks

Here's one I recently did in oak, stained Mission brown. I used white oak stock for the drawers and face frame, red oak ply for the carcass (couldn't find white at my local suppliers). The flash makes it look redder than it is in person.

I use 3/4" veneered plywood for the carcass, and 7/8" finish width hardwood stock for the cabinet frames, doors, and drawers. You can certainly use 1/2" if you wish, but I prefer the extra thickness, especially for granite, stone, or concrete counter tops.
