My bandsaw blade travels back and forth (infeed to outfeed) about 1/16″ when it is turning (power on). The wheels are paralell (checked with a level)…any sug. as to what is causing this?
Thanks!

The crown on the wheels are not correct, or the tires have collected alot of sawdust and built up an uneven surface.
Those were my first thoughts also, followed by a maybe bad weld.

It just started doing this lately, so I am placing my bets on sawdust & pitch buildup.
Thanks for the help.

I do see some sawdust & pitch on them that I could not clean off.
Thanks for the info..I'll be fixing it tomorrow.

Find the weld, I think you may find the blade was not welded in a straight plane.I do not think the crown will affect the in and out you describe.Take the blade back or if you want you could re braze it. I have a blade on the saw now like yours. This is a 3/16"blade that I broke and silver brazed. One of these days I'll cut the blade and do it right.

This happens from all of my blades. This happens to be a timberwolf 3/4" blade, but they all do it...about the same in & out, but more pronounced on the wider blades.
I will keep the bad weld in mind & return the blade if new tires do not help anything. Thanks!

I didn't realize that all the blades move in and out. Loosen the tension, pull and push on the upper wheel. If there is any play then this has to be addressed with the correct thickness washer. Or possibly you may have a bad bearing. If it's the bearing I would think you could hear an odd noise.I do not know why the wider blades appear to orbit more than narrow blades. I do think this is a clue to the problem. Someone will figure this one out.
