Hi, I am building this project, and was wondering what would be the best way to attach it to the wall. I thought about the hangslot hardware recesed into the back, or it is hard to see, there is a beaded pegboard sans pegs behind the dowel could I screw through that?
What do ya think?

I would use a keyhole bit 16" on centers. Screw some panhead screws set in the wall no issues completely hidden.

If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it.
And if it stops moving, subsidize it.
You said you were building this I assume the dowel is removable why not drill the holes and counter sink them for screws an put those would buttons in hole but dont glue them so you can pop them out to remove the rack.
Thanks everyone for good ideas. I am working on it.

Built something very similar to this and used French Cleats to attach it to the wall. With the cleats you can locate the studs in the wall and basically put it any where you want.
Ditto the key hole bit, If you have a plunge router.
Work Safe, Count to 10 when your done for the day !!

The second I saw your post I thought it was for a hanging g-uilt rack.
It would have been great to see what such a thing looks like.
Oh well.
Hanging guilt racks have really sharp hooks. Otherwise, the guilt slides right off and makes a messy puddle on the floor.
