Any body know where I can get a good two stroke powered screw gun?
The chainsaw thing got me thinking . . . why am I messing with batteries and chargers and the clutter that entails. I remember when I was a kid everything seemed to have a lovely two stroke; chainsaws, motorcycles, weed whackers, leaf blowers . . . why one could hear their song no matter how many pillows one inadvertently pilled on one’s head on an early sunday morning. Where have all the two strokes gone ? Kind of sad really.

I think Binford made a full line of two-stroke tools, as seen on Tim the-tool-man Taylor's TV show. As I recall, the minimum HP was around 5, though, which made them a little heavy.
That's Ok I Don't Use Small Screws Much
(ha ha ha can you imagine? Well apparently you can.)
Does that have soft start?
As Tim would say . . .
Ahr, ahr, ahr.
Soft starts are for . . . well, I don't want to say that here. ;-)

New Tools
Roc,
This tool has a charger -
Is that electric start then?
looks like quite a driller.
How about a gas drill?
Roc,
Our electric crews used a gas drill when they worked up on the poles. The drills they used were something similar to the Tanaka drill (I can't remember the brand):

This drill would be a handfull for a screw gun. But if you really hate a battery, need to build up noodle arms, and like the smell of gas, this might be your answer.
Doug
Tanaka !
Wow That 'll teach me to be a butt head (probly not). There is such a thing as a two stroke drill ! I should be able to convert it easy enough ( got one of those break away clutches around here some place ).

NOODLE arms. Naw nothin helps with that. Worked concrete out of high school, ( and adobe block latter on) . Worked in a foundry handing forty/fifty pound ceramic shells all day. Lifted weights for years at the Y.
Just stuck with 'em. Work good though.
Must be inner che or some sheeet.
PS: Give me noodle arms and a long enough lever and I will move the Earth. OK a hydraulic pump and ram I just don't like to make a habit of working that hard any more.
gas powered drill
Still offers a gas-powered drill (http://www.stihlusa.com/construction/augerdrill.html), you could use that as a starting point, possibly add on a clutched chuck from a cordless drill.
A boating store near me features a 2 stroke blender.
Glad you're not taking me too seriously
The boss where I work got so bored, or got so many vitamins that day, he made a pedal powered blender with a power take off the back wheel and put it on his bike. I didn't know what to say or do.
Quickstep,
Jimmy Buffett would be proud of you.
