Again. The saw is an old vintage Craftsman (1948?) that my uncle added a cast iron right hand extension table and we built a homade router table on the left. When he added the table, he mounted a craftsman (align a rip?) fence. Suggestions? On a budget.
Thanks
Paul

Back when I was considering a new fence for an incredibly old Jet contractor saw, I noticed that there were quite a number of vintage Craftsman saws which had been fitted with the MuleCab fence. They offer a 90-day "no questions asked" guarantee for a trial period.

Paul,
Also take a look at the Redline from Dave at http://store.thesawshop.com/catalogue/default.php
Similar to the Mulecab but Dave has introduced some nice add ons.
I have both. The Mulecab is on the shelf as it was on the saw I sold. I was going to cut it down and put it on my bandsaw, but opted to buy a new Redline bandsaw fence.

Thanks for the advice and both links. Just what i was looking for. Now, if i can convince my uncle.

Hey milehigh,
I had that same saw give or take, it was my dad's. One day I get my issue of FW and there it was shop made rip fence. It was made from a length of unistrut an aluminum channel and some miscellaneous hardware. It worked great and cost pennies since I had all the stuff laying around...I would still be working that saw if it was not for the dust collection or lack of. A unisaw has taken it's place. I am not too sharp on locating articles on this thing but I will look for it.
Well it looks like I was selling myself short, already found it. 1988 #68 pg. 46 and it really works
Good luck,
Jpatinc
