I’ve been looking for a sliding compound miter saw for a while and didn’t have a clue about which one to get. I stopped by Home Depot at lunch (I know, I’m not a big fan either but…) and they had a Milwaukee 6955-20 12″ sliding CMS on sale for $499. That is $200 off the regular price. So, I bought it.
I read some reviews and they all seemed positive. I’ll post a review after I get it unpacked and decide where to put it. Funny, the wife was as excited as I was…

Quite possibly because there's something she wants made which needs the saw :-)
Dave;
That's what I tried to tell her.... Not sure if she believes me or not. That is the downside to marrying a smart woman. She sees right through the crap....

Excellent price... very good saw Doug. If I weren't happy with my Hitachi and the previous Hitachi... it is the saw I would pursue. But.. the price makes it not the first choice and the reason it's a great deal for you. It will open up another world to you IMO.
Sarge..
Thanks Sarge,
I too thought it was a good price. I read a couple of reviews on the saw and they were positive. The saw was on clearance and it was the last one in the box, so I thought I would give it a go. Guess I can call it my early Christmas present.

I got to use it at IWF and have played with it in HD... I have a feeling giving it a go will end up a long term relation-ship. I love Milwaukee as I have the 3 1/2 ane 2 1/4 HP routers and a saw-zall. Well built and hosses all.
Again... you were at the right place.. right time and realized you were. If I were in the market I would have jumped without regard for the safety of those around me to get the cash on the counter. And to think.. with the blessing of the chief financial officer.
Ummmm... somethings up and possibly something big... ha. ha...

You're doomed.
Before you know it, you'll be asking her if it's OK to use "her" tools in "her" shop.
