i bought a rikon from woodcraft that came with the motor skewed at a slight angle making the disk sander disk angle in relation to the table. also and worse, the cogged drive belt is clicking as the cogs hit the edge of the top pulley. i’m sure the drive belt will be worn the nothing in short order. unfortunately i have to return it to woodcraft.
this machine was in the $300 range. i’m looking for a better one. am willing to spend twice that. any suggestions? grizzly lists a couple of professional models in that size and they look intriguing.

The position of the motor and pulley are almost certainly adjustable. They should have done a better job of assembling the machine, but the problems you describe should be easy to fix. You need to get the two pulleys into the same plane. Doesn't have to be to the thousandth, just close.
