Woodworking in America 2025
Woodworking in America is back! This time we will be at the Iowa State Fairgrounds on October 10 and 11We are thrilled to announce that Woodworking in America is back this year! Woodsmith, Popular Woodworking and Fine Woodworking are bringing the same event, but at a new venue. Join us in Des Moines, Iowa, at the Iowa State Fairgrounds for two days of woodworking fun.
I love a good working show. It’s a great opportunity to meet other woodworkers, browse tools, and learn from the experts. Last year was a great time. We started on Thursday night with a tour of the shop and studios for Woodsmith, ShopNotes, and the Woodsmith Shop TV show. The next two days were full of presentations and an exhibition floor, where vendors like Grizzly Tools, Veritas, and Old Masters showed off new products and tools.
We will be updating this page regularly with new presenters and topics, but here’s what we have so far:
Shea Alexander
Bob Behnke – Five Steps for Successful Gluing
Beth Ireland – Turning Tricks for Furniture Makers
Alexis Dolese – Accommodating for and Reducing Wood Movement
Wilbur Pan – Japanese and Western Planes: The Common Ground
Phil Huber
Ben Strano – Luthiery for Woodworkers
Mark Harrell – Selecting, Using and Maintaining Vintage Handsaws
Amanda Russell – Tips for Short Production Runs
Dave Richards
Vic Tesolin
Gary Rogowski – Setting Up Shop, Again
Logan Wittmer
We will also be recording a live episode of Shop Talk Live at the end of the event, and taking questions from the audience.
